Need new staff photos but worried about how to have a Covid-safe headshot photoshoot? No worries! You can keep your staff completely safe and still get great, natural headshot photos

Businesses still need high-quality, engaging photographs, even in Covid times. In fact, the digital world is becoming more and more prevalent in business. It’s perhaps even more important to have up-to-date website profile photos, LinkedIn pictures, and professional business photographs.

Here’s the steps I’m taking as a photographer to ensure that you and your staff remain as safe as possible while having a professional photoshoot.

Defined Photo Slots

15 minutes is generally more than enough time to get a range of excellent photos for one person. Every staff member will have a defined 15-minute slot for their photos, and it will be just them and me, the photographer.

We can get through your full staff in a few hours, while staying as socially distanced as possible and still getting the best portraits possible.

Outdoor Location

It’s perfectly okay if you want to have your photos taken in the office. We’ll take every precaution and make every effort to stay socially distanced and ensure that everyone involved remains safe.

However, if you want something a little different and more ventilated, we can do a Covid-safe headshot photoshoot in an outdoor location

This is particularly ideal for companies that have an outdoor element to them, such as construction companies who can set up a photoshoot “on site”.

But we can always work something out for other businesses. Setting up a quick studio on a rooftop, balcony, or in front of the office building can work just as well.

Photographer’s Mask On

As the photographer, I need to interact with you and your staff as we take the photos. Although I like natural-looking, comfortable photos, I will be giving some light instruction on how to stand, where to look, and so on.

Of course, to get the best, most natural photos, your staff will need to take their masks off so we can see them smile! For some, this could be an anxiety-inducing situation.

However, you won’t need to worry about this kind of interaction being dangerous. My mask remains on at all times, no exceptions.

Medium to Long Focal Range

As well as keeping my mask on, I’ve decided to only use a medium to long focal range for headshots. This means I’ll be standing at least 3 meters away from the subject at all times.

This kind of range allows everyone to stay as safe as possible, while still capturing excellent quality, head-and-shoulders photos of your team members.

Even when it comes to showing you the photos on my computer so you can choose your favorites, we’ll make sure to not get too close to each other.

Conclusion

Don’t let worries about Covid stop you from updating your company’s professional photos. Now more than ever, a business’s digital presence is incredibly important.

So if your current website or LinkedIn photos are a year or two old, it’s time for a new headshot photoshoot. You may be surprised at how much of a difference up-to-date, professional photos can make to the way potential clients perceive your business!
