Goldsmith Hall, St Paul – Event Photographer in London

City of London Event Photography

I was commissioned to photograph at Goldsmiths’ Hall during the beginning of October and it was a great place to do event photography. The venue itself is positioned between Easter Lane and Gresham Street so I have walked past the venue many times throughout the years but never realised how much history the hall had.

Event Photography in the City of London.

We started the evening in the Drawing Room where the evening guests sipped on champagne and ate canapes. This was a (very!) elegant room which seem to be one of two of the key rooms in the hall. The guests spent 45 minutes networking and mingling before going into the impressive Exhibition Room across the hall. The walls of the Exhibition Halls was covered with a panelled English Walnut which made it perfect for corporate occasions.

Clients hire me for my discreet event photography so I alway try not to interrupt the flow the event by over using flash and only using flash when it necessary. I try my best to mingle with the clients guests and capture the networking as it actually happens. And then during the main event I will be capture all the speakers interacting with their audiences. Getting lots of different angles of the speakers in action, photographing both wide and tight shots.

I have a few evenings and during the day slots available so if you have a event or a conference that you need a experienced event photographer then don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Sir David Attenborough portrait

During the beginning of May, I was commissioned to photograph the opening of the Temperance House at Kew Gardens. Part of the brief was to do a few portraits of Sir David Attenbourgh but with time being fairly limiting on the evening I had to keep it very simple. I made a plan to shoot the portraits with a long lens (Nikon 105mm F1.4) and shot the portraits wide open to keep it clean looking.

Here is one of my favourite portraits from the evening.

Shot with a Nikon D5, 105mm 1.4.

The rest of the evening was dedicated to taking event pictures for social media/press purposes. Here is another shot of Sir David Attenborough during his speech.

Corporate Portrait in the City of London

As well as doing events I photograph a lot of professional portraits for my corporate clients. I am currently offering a number of different headshot services e.g headshots against a grey or pure background but clients also ask for environmental portraits in their work spaces. These are great fun to do and create a number different challenges that certainly keep me on my toes! Here is a portrait taken in a busy hallway using just one Yonguno strobe.

Kennedys Law Event Photography

Last week I photographed a great evening event at Kennedys which is a international law firm in Bank. The Friday presentations took place on the ninth floor which had a impressive view overlooking the city of London. The evening started off with networking between the guests and then followed by interesting discussions by the five speakers and then ended with a panel discussions.

If you have a event at Kennedys and you need a event photographer then you can contact me via my contact form for further information.

Event photography at Claridges

I was browsing through my site over the weekend and I realised I haven’t blogged for…..six months! I have never been a great blogger but I am very lucky that I shoot in a lot interesting venues across London so its seems a shame that I don’t show a few pictures of what I’ve been up to through the first half of 2017. From now on, I will try to turn over a new leaf and blog once a week so that you can keep in touch with some of the incredible places I’ve been working in….

At the beginning of March I was commissioned to photograph an event at Claridges which is an exclusive hotel, well known for its afternoon tea. It is also a great setting for an evening event though and the atmosphere in the function rooms is perfect for smart business events!

Here are a few images from the evening….

All the images shot on Nikon D4 plus 24-70mm/105mm lens

PR shoot in Canning Town

Last year was one of my busiest years yet with over 88 shoots commissioned throughout the year which haven’t left much time with keeping my website and blog up to date! Anyway during the end of October I was commissioned by a London PR company to take a portraits of Jane Roscoe (Director, London Film School) in Canning Town. As always I arrived 30 minutes before the shoot was about to start and scouted possible locations, I eventually decided on the lovely bright red bridge that crosses Bow Creek which is a stone throw away from Canning Town tube station. With every portrait shoot I try to get a number of different type of shots that includes both wide and tight shots so they can be widely used for media and online purpose.

Here is one of my favourite shots taken from the 15 minute shoot.

Winter Event photography

I have lost track on the amount of events that I have photographed recently so I thought I should do a round up over the last few months and then do more individual blogs over the quieter months of winter…. The majority of my events have been in London with a few of the venues including the following… The Hop Exchange, The Royal Exchange and smaller opening nights for PR companies. All of my clients have requested for natural and (mostly) unposed event photography. I have photographed everything from small PR events to conferences and more recently winter socials.

Here are a handful of shots from the last 12ish weeks…if you have a event that you need covering then you can email here
